Privacy Policy

US Brief (“we”) runs us-brief.com and the US Brief Daily email. This page explains what information is collected when you use them and who handles it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (tag ID G-06SN4TD178) to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages are read, newsletter signups, game completions and clicks to our listed sources. Google may set cookies for this. Links that go through us-brief.com/go/ (including our Amazon affiliate links) are also counted on our own server (date, link, page and country only, never your IP address or any cookie). We also keep our own daily page counts: for each page, how many times it was opened that day and a broad source such as search, social, newsletter or direct. We store no IP address, no cookie, no device identifier and nothing that identifies you. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to US Brief Daily or the AI Tools email, your email address is stored by our email provider, Buttondown. You confirm by email before we send anything, every issue has an unsubscribe link, and we never sell or rent your address. See Buttondown’s privacy policy.

Tips and sponsorships

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email, amount and anything you type at checkout (such as a sponsor line), but never your card details. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising and affiliate links

US Brief does not currently run display ads or ad-network tracking. If you click an Amazon link, Amazon may set cookies to credit the referral; see our affiliate disclosure.

Games

Game progress, scores and streaks are saved in your own browser (local storage), and clearing your browser data removes them. They are not sent to us unless you choose to post a score.

Games leaderboards: if you choose to post a score, we keep the nickname you type (or “Player ####”), your score and time for up to 30 days, plus scrambled one-way codes for your browser and network so each device posts once a day and spam is limited. No account, email or IP address is stored. Please don’t use your full name. Email contact@us-brief.com to remove a nickname.

Campus pilot requests

If you ask about the US Brief for Campus pilot on us-brief.com/campus, we keep the name, institution, role and work email you enter (plus any office or note you add) only to respond to your request. We store them in our own database, do not add you to any mailing list and do not share or sell them. To have them deleted, email contact@us-brief.com.

Your choices

• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
• You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on.
• You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, or email us to delete your address.

US Brief is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
