What happened

Apple told developers on Nov. 3 that Siri AI is now open to all apps in a Developer Preview shipping with the iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, macOS 27.3, and visionOS 27.3 betas. Any developer can bring app content and actions into Siri AI using App Intents, and new "skills" can teach Siri AI to chain several actions into one request.

Key numbers and rules from Apple's post: Siri AI in the beta supports English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, with Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese coming soon. It requires an Apple Intelligence-capable device set to a supported language. Apple said Siri AI is unavailable in the EU on iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS while it talks with regulators, and is not available for users under 13. Some Apple Intelligence features that use server-side models are subject to daily usage limits, with paid expanded access planned later.

The Verge reported that developers can expose actions so people ask for help in natural language — from checking a delivery to placing an order — and that Siri AI can surface entities from the Spotlight semantic index beyond older schemas. The Register noted the move fulfills a long-promised third-party Siri expansion first previewed years earlier.

Why it matters

Apple had already wired many of its own apps into the rebuilt assistant. Opening the same hooks to third parties is how Siri AI becomes a front door for booking, ordering, and lookup outside Apple's catalog — the capability rivals have pitched for years. App Store submission for these experiences opens in spring 2027, Apple said, giving developers months to build before customers see the integrations in shipping software.

What’s next

Developers can test in development builds and closed TestFlight now. Apple hosted Apple Intelligence Group Labs on Nov. 4–5 for engineering questions ahead of the spring submission opening.

More context

What's still unknown: the exact App Store terms and usage policies Apple said it will publish later; how aggressive daily server-side limits will be at launch; and whether EU negotiations restore Siri AI on iPhone and iPad there before the spring shipping window.
